Speaking about the importance of CERN, Kazem Azizi, a professor of physics at the Faculty of Science at the University of Tehran and a member of the CERN working group at the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, said, “CERN is a national institute of nuclear science and technology.” Particle physics research center and the largest scientific laboratory in the world.”
“European countries are the main members of CERN, but more than 70 countries cooperate with CERN in other ways,” Azizi said.
According to its official website, CERN is an intergovernmental organization that operates the world’s largest particle physics laboratory. Founded in 1954, it is headquartered in Meyrin, a western suburb of Geneva.
