Araghchi held a meeting with the Secretary -General of the Italian Ministry of Riccardo Guariglia, who was in Tehran on Sunday in the fifth round of political consultations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Italy.
At the meeting, the Foreign Minister referred to the long -term and friendly relations between Iran and Italy in various political, economic and cultural fields, with a focus on Tehran’s readiness to develop and expand relations with various European countries, especially Italy, based on common respect and common interests.
Araghchi also considered that it is important and effective to hold regular and continuous political consulting meetings between Iran and Italy to better understand the positions and views of the two countries in order to help expand bilateral relations and increase stability and security in the region and the world.
For his part, the Italian diplomat expressed his happiness at his visit to Iran and the meeting of the Iranian Foreign Minister, conveying my greetings and best from Italian Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani to his Iranian counterpart.
Ricardo Gharlela also expressed his satisfaction with his fruitful meeting and negotiations with the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Majid Takht Ravenchy, stressing his country’s interest in developing relations between Tehran and Rome on the basis of mutual interests.
