According to the report, the company spent 10 years in exploration projects in eight locations throughout Iran to discover about 7,000 metric tons (MT) from Antimony Reserves, Press TV said.
She said that the largest new reserves are located in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchistan, adding that estimates show that the reserve is responsible for 10 % of the global mineral offer.
The global demand for antimony has increased in recent years, as the chemical component has become increasingly common in the manufacture of solar panels and in the production of sensitive military equipment.
The most prevalent use of antimony is in flame inhibitors while minerals have traditional applications in medicine and cosmetics.
Also, the price of Antimon is in a rise all over the world amid export restrictions imposed in China, the country that represents nearly half of the global Antimon mining and a large share of Antimon treatment in the world.
The estimated estimates last year indicate that the price of Antimon alloys with high purity can jump between 8000 to 30,000 dollars in the coming years.
Iran has provided policies to expand the mining sector in recent years amid efforts to diversify the economy away from crude oil exports.
IMidro announced in February 2023 that it had discovered the first deposit of lithium ore in the country with authorities later that it had created plans to start the mine in 2025.
