Video: Watch the glory of ancient Iran in the ruins of Persepolis

Persepolis, ancient Persian Persa, or TAKHT-E Jamshid is an ancient capital of Iranian family kings in Iran (Persia), which is located about 50 km northeast of Shiraz in the Faris region in southwestern Iran. In 1979 the ruins of the UNESCO World Heritage website were appointed.

The site features a large terrace with the eastern side that gives up Kuh-E Rahmat (“Mount of Mercy”). The other three sides are formed through the retention wall, the height of the ground ranges from 4 to 12 meters; On the western side, a wonderful double staircase on two flights of 111 short stone steps to the top. On the balcony there are the ruins of a number of huge buildings, all built of a dark gray stone (often polished on a marble -like surface) from the adjacent mountain. The stone was cut in the utmost accuracy in large size blocks, which were placed without mortar; Many of them are still in their place. In particular, the amazing pillars, 13 of which still stand in the audience hall in Darius I (Great; Al-Hakam 522-486 BC), known as Apadana, the name granted to a similar hall by Darius in Sosa. There are still two other columns in the entrance hall of the Zirexis Gate, and a third of the broken pieces were collected.
