Pezeshkian made statements in a meeting with artists and craftsmen from the province of Southeast Tehran on Thursday, stressing that the plots of enemies against the Iranian people will not lead anywhere, according to Al -Sahafa TV.
“As long as we have the national assets of specialists, elites, producers, industrialists and artists, we will not be concerned about oil sanctions,” he stressed, referring to the capabilities of scientists, specialists and artists in Iran.
“We face problems when we lose our assets. Any country that depends on its material resources will eventually face ruin; therefore, we must focus on human capital – products, artists, merchants and scientists. If we support them and do not hinder their activities, threats and penalties will be ineffective.”
The Iranian president also indicated that the United States has been pressuring Iran since “we have made ourselves depend on oil and gas.”
“As long as we rely on the resources at the bottom of our feet, if these resources are taken away or banned them, we will be in trouble. But if we create art and products, it is not possible to prevent us from any strength, stressing that the government provides unconditional support to artists and is committed to providing a platform for their work.
The Iranian president highlighted the human ability to innovate, saying: “If we believe that we can solve problems with our hands, intelligence and capabilities, no authority can bring us to our knees.”
“We are sitting on the treasure in Iran – this land is full of treasure. It is not appropriate for us to be in the situation in which we are now. To overcome these conditions, we need a new look, unity and renewal of support. We must imagine new possibilities for ourselves, and in this way only we can live with dignity and pride.”
Tensions between Iran and the United States have worsened significantly since US President Donald Trump withdrew from one side of the nuclear deal, and called on the joint comprehensive work plan (JCPOA), in 2018.
JCPOA, which was reached in 2015, asked Iran to implement confidence -building measures to reduce its nuclear activities in exchange for the reduction of sanctions.
After withdrawing, the Trump administration launched the “maximum pressure” campaign aimed at paralyzing Iran’s economy through severe sanctions targeting its oil exports, the banking sector and other critical industries.
US officials publicly admitted that this policy was designed to weaken Iran economically and politically.
