The Iraqi Prime Minister’s office said, in a statement, that Momaini and the Sudanese discussed the expansion of disturbing relations and issues of the neighboring two countries.
They exchanged views on the security of common borders in the light of bilateral agreements, cooperation in combating trafficking in weapons and surgery, and coordination of activities in the border crossings, all of which aim to achieve security and stability.
According to the statement, the two officials also discussed ways to facilitate the pilgrimage to the Iranians during the Arbaeen party, and stressed the implementation of the memorandum of understanding between the Iranian and Iraqi ministries regarding the recognition of the driver’s licenses in each other’s lands.
Amani, who arrived in Baghdad earlier today for a two-day visit, was welcomed by the official invitation of his Iraqi counterpart, Abdul Amir Camille Al-Shamri, by Lieutenant General Ziyad, Deputy Minister of Interior in Iraq, and Muhammad Kazim Al-Sadiq, the Iranian ambassador to Baghdad.
Momaini and his accompanying delegation praised a memorial site at Baghdad Airport, where Lieutenant General Qasim Soleimani and Iraqi Commander Abu Muhandis were assassinated in an American air strike in 2020.
