IRISL said on Tuesday that she had dealt with 100,000 Teus this year, allowing it to increase the annual TEU processing record.
The company said that the rise in TEU treatment has come despite the constant pressure on US sanctions on Iran’s economy and trade relations with the rest of the world.
He said that there was a significant increase in the activity of Teu in Chaphar, which is the only ocean port in Iran on the Sea of Oman, adding that the size of the TEU in the port would reach nearly 100,000 units at the end of the current evaluation year in late March.
IRISL said that the size of the Teu in Tasabhar is expected to rise by 50 % in the next calendar year, adding that the shipping company has also expanded its activities in the main regional and international ports, including in Russia and in countries that are members of the Commonwealth Bloc in the independent countries in the Eurasia.
Iran has witnessed a significant increase in its maritime trade in recent years amid the country’s efforts to diversify its economy away from crude oil exports.
The ports in southern and northern Iran have also reported an increase in loading and discharge because regional and international agents have increasingly inclined to the use of crossing goods throughout the country.
The figures issued by the Iranian ports and marine organization showed last month that the total loading and emptying of Teus in Iranian ports increased by 12 % year on an annual basis in 11 months until late February to reach approximately 2.843 million units.
