After his meeting with the President of the Kurdistan region, Nishirkirravan Barzani, the Iranian diplomat said, “We have had warm and good discussions,” with a focus on “the many common values linking” Iran and the Kurdistan region, according to the local media website Rudaw TV English.
For his part, Barzani described Iran as an “important ally” and stressed the “historical relations” between Erbil and Tehran “that was established on the principles of good neighborhood and common interests.” He added that the existence of strong relations with Iran is “necessary and important to enhance regional stability.”
In addition, Barzani stressed the commitment of the Kurdistan region to enhance regional peace and stability, stressing that he “will not become a source of threat to its neighbors,” especially Iran.
Takht Rafishi also met with the Prime Minister in Kurdistan Regional (KRG) Mazour Barzani, and discussed regional developments and ways to enhance economic and trade relations between Erbil and Tehran, Berzani on X. And trade cooperation to push mutual prosperity.
