The Deputy Minister of Health for Research and Technology, Shaheen Akhundzadeh, announced on the opening ceremony of the twenty -sixth international conference from Royan and the twenty -fourth festival at Shahid Bishti University in Tehran.
He compared the position of Iran’s highest in the region with regard to reproductive medicine publications and categories in Turkey, which spends more than 11 times from the Islamic Republic to research and does not face any scientific sanctions.
He also said that Iran ranked third in the world in 2024 in the number of articles published in reproductive medicine, after China and the United States, despite the spending of only 0.5 percent of the total local products (GDP) on science.
In recent years, there has been a remarkable growth in Iran’s publications in the field of reproductive sciences, as Akhundzadeh said, stressing that development will continue despite the current restrictions.
Based on a five -year review (2020 to 2024), ten Iranian researchers, in addition to ten universities and institutes, are among the best world in reproductive biology, as the official pointed out.
