This came during the Shina Ansari meeting with the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in the capital, Abu Dhabi, at the invitation of the Emirati side.
During the meeting, the two parties referred to historical relations and good neighborhood relations between the two countries, expressing their satisfaction with the growing bilateral relations, and stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation, including in the environmental fields, according to Press TV.
Ansari announced Iran’s readiness to develop cooperation, especially in the fields of dirt storms and combating desertification, adding that facing such challenges requires the development of cooperation and joint programs.
For his part, Sheikh Zayed welcomed the proposals and stressed the UAE’s readiness in this regard and describing joint cooperation in the environmental fields as a necessity to protect the interests and benefits of children and future generations in the two countries.
Iran has suffered from increased cases of severe dust storms in recent years, as the authorities blamed the crisis for drought as well as the lack of sound management of water and land resources in neighboring countries, especially in Iraq.
The Arab countries in the region have also been subjected to major health problems due to the repetition of dust, sand and air storms in recent years.
