Iran and Azerbaijan emphasize enhancing energy and transportation cooperation.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahid Jalalzadeh met and held talks with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov to discuss bilateral relations in various fields including energy and transportation.

During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on bilateral and multilateral relations and issues of common interest.

Jalalzadeh and Bayramov stressed the importance of contacts between the presidents of the two countries in developing friendly relations between Tehran and Baku, including the existing political dialogue and parliamentary relations.

It is worth noting that the visits of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to the Republic of Azerbaijan this year (which began on March 21, 2025) gave an impetus to friendly relations between the two countries.

The two sides also exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation between Tehran and Baku in the political, economic, commercial, energy security, transportation and communications fields.
