Hamas says it will release 4 Zionist women in exchange for 200 Palestinians

Israel is expected to release 200 Palestinians in exchange for the release of four female Israeli soldiers, a Hamas media official said on Tuesday, according to Press TV.

This was stated by Nader Fakhouri, head of the Media Office for Prisoners affiliated with Hamas, on Tuesday.

Fakhouri said, “The second part of the first phase of the Palestinian resistance factions’ agreement with the Israeli occupation will begin on January 25.”

He added, “The resistance will announce on Saturday the names of the Israeli prisoners who will be released, and in return the (Israeli) occupation will present a list of Palestinian prisoners who will be released.”

He added, “Based on these two lists, the actual implementation will take place on Sunday, January 26, with the release of the Palestinian prisoners and the handover of the Israeli prisoners.”

Taher al-Nunu, another Hamas official, confirmed that four Israeli women would be released in exchange for a second group of Palestinians.

The ceasefire went into effect on January 19. Israel released 90 kidnapped Palestinians as part of the first phase of the ceasefire. All Palestinians were released from Ofer Prison in the occupied West Bank on Monday.

Hamas says it is committed to the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
