The European Economic Committee announced the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement on Monday, saying that it expects to strengthen the trade agreement between the participating countries to 12 billion dollars, according to the Russian Tass.
The bloc includes Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia, with Iran among the observer countries.
This announcement came a few days after President Masoud Bezichane officially signed the Free Trade Agreement between Iran and Eaeu in the law after the parliament believed it on February 4, 2025, and then approved by the Guardian Council on March 2.
On Saturday, Pezeshkian also officially contacted the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the implementation of the law.
The Free Trade Agreement aims to eliminate definitions on more than 80 % of the goods circulating between the member states of Iran and Eaeu, with planning for the gradual tariff cuts of sensitive sectors.
