Speaking at the third session of the series of specialized meetings on optimal management of gas consumption on Saturday, Saeed Tavakoli pointed out that although energy imbalance has been discussed in various forums in previous years, this year represents the first time that it has received the attention of all stakeholders. . , while fully understanding its importance.
He added that for the first time, the President personally and seriously pursued the issue of energy imbalance and the importance of consumption management in multiple Cabinet meetings. This issue was also examined with particular sensitivity in meetings with heads of government branches.
The Deputy Minister of Oil for Gas Affairs stressed that the gas imbalance has become a public and national concern.
He stated that these developments reflect the state’s serious determination to confront existing challenges and improve the energy situation, which prompted various ministries, including the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Plan and Budget Authority, to accelerate their programs.
Tavakoli pointed out that despite the great challenges and high ethical costs incurred by the National Iranian Gas Company, effective management in production and consumption has been achieved.
He stressed that this trend indicates a positive shift in the country’s approach towards managing energy resources, and expressed his hope that continued efforts will lead to further improvements in the energy sector.
He also revealed new plans in the energy sector to increase gas production, highlighting a special program of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology that aims to use an information platform to enhance users’ use of energy resources.
The CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company pointed to new records in gas production, noting that the current daily production and transportation reached 876 million cubic meters.
He noted that by accepting engineering risks in major repairs, the efforts have resulted in a significant increase in gas transportation capacity.
According to Tavakoli, the measures taken this year to enhance gas production led to record unprecedented daily transportation rates.
