Ms. Farah Abu Ayyash, the Palestinian correspondent for Tasnim News Agency, based in Tehran in the city of Hebron in the south of the West Bank, was arrested during a night raid on her home in the village of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, on August 6, 2025. After being transferred to the Moscovia detention center north of occupied Jerusalem, she witnessed torture, harassment, and assault by prison guards.
Tasnim followed up on the case of its correspondent immediately after the arrest of this dedicated journalist, but based on the advice of journalists with the same experience and also consulting with her lawyer, and given Ms. Farah Abu Ayyash’s personal concerns regarding the process of dealing with her legal case in the courts of the Zionist regime, as well as the potential problems that the Zionist army might cause to her family members, the Iranian News Agency exercised restraint and did not publish news of her case.
But Farah Abu Ayyash’s publication of her story of torture from inside horrific Israeli prisons and repeated consultations with her lawyer left no choice for Tasnim News Agency to officially reveal her case and warn of the dire consequences of the inhumane and brutal measures practiced by the Israeli regime against the oppressed Palestinian journalist.
