Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said that repeating the irresponsible position of the G7 member states, by supporting the illegal and unjustified action of the three European countries and the United States in abusing the dispute resolution mechanism in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action to reinstate UN Security Council resolutions previously filed against Iran, is tantamount to endorsing an internationally illegal act.
He stressed that the G7 position does not legitimize or justify in any way the illegal and unjustified actions of the three European countries and the United States.
Referring to the illegal military attacks launched by the Israeli regime and the United States against Iran and its peaceful nuclear facilities, the spokesman described the G7 call for Iran to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency, without the slightest reference to the joint crimes committed by the United States and the Israeli regime, as hypocrisy and interference.
He stressed that the United States, due to its illegal and unilateral withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action in 2018 and its military attack on Iranian peaceful nuclear facilities, is the main reason for the current situation.
He added that the three European countries, by following the US lead and failing to fulfill their commitments, as well as by supporting the military aggression of the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities, not only committed a flagrant violation of their commitments in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, but also ignored, in clear bad faith, all of Iran’s initiatives and efforts to enhance diplomacy.
