In his speech to the virtual meeting through video conferences, the Iranian president stated that one of the biggest threats to justice and stability in the contemporary international system is the increase in mono procedures and effective use of sanctions.
He said that unilateral policies are not only exposed to the national interests of independent countries, but also the failure of global cooperation and hindering sustainable development.
Pezeshkian emphasized the urgent need to make a serious reform of international government structures. He called for the reassessment of the formation and functions of the United Nations Security Council, as well as reforms in the international financial system. He stressed that groups such as BRICS and other international southern institutions bear a special responsibility in directing the transition to a multi -poles, democratic and fair system where the voices of developing countries are heard.
The President referred to recent geopolitical tensions and the increasing impact of climate change as factories that threaten economic growth and international peace. He criticized the incompatible influence of a small number of strong countries and politicizing economic tools, which erode trust between countries and undermining effective global rule.
The President suggested several initiatives to Brex during his virtual speech. Initiatives include reforming the international financial structure, enhancing comprehensive pluralism by strengthening the United Nations to inflate the voices of developing countries, ensuring fair access to basic resources through global cooperation of public goods, establishing a support mechanism for members who face illegal sanctions, and enhancing sustainable development by encouraging innovation and shift in green and digital economies.
Pezeshkian again emphasized Iran’s commitment to active cooperation within BRICS, while emphasizing that effective anti -unilateral measures will not only benefit member states but the entire international community. He concluded by emphasizing the importance of enhancing pluralism and adhering to the principles of sustainable development for a better future.
